This case was tabled until the applicant has an opportunity to speek with the development corporation and the councilman about potential reuse of the building

Date: September 25, 2014
Committee: Local Design Review Committee
Action Type: Initial Plan Submission
Conditions/Notes:

The applicant did an assessment of the interior of the building and made the following conclusion.

It is pretty much an empty shell inside without wall or floor finishes. There really aren’t mechanical systems inside either. The work that has been done appears to have been done by a do-it-yourselfer without permits. For example, the new stairs to 2nd floor don’t have consistent tread and riser dimensions.  Someone may have put a new roof on at some point but there is daylight coming thru in spots. It is not look like a good candidate for rehabilitation.

Councilwoman Mitchel also received complaints from the residents regarding the safety of the children walking by and requested that the building be demolished ASAP.
